Made up for last week . . .

Well, I made up for last week and lost .6 pounds this week. It was a rough week but I tried really hard to track everything. I'm doing the same thing this week. At the meeting, we talked about food and products that help us out a lot. People come up with some really great ideas. One woman gave out a recipe for Angel Food Cake.

Angel Food Cake
1 15oz can of crushed pineapple with the juices
1 Angel Food Cake Mix

Mix the cake mix and the can of crushed pineapple together, spread into a 9x13 baking pan.
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
Tastes best when cold.

I think these things are the greatest. Why doesn't everyone make their desserts this way? Because they are afraid that it won't be the same. Does that really matter if it still tastes good? I don't think so. But maybe I'm crazy.

Some other products that people mentioned are:
sugar free jello with lite cool whip (this is a personal favorite)
Jello
Fat Free Tortillas filled with chicken and veggies
DQ Fudge bars (0 points!)
Peach Salsa on just about anything
Trader Joe's spicy black bean dip
Just for One veggies from Green Giant (they've teamed up with WW and will soon include points values)
Pellegrino Sparkling Water (mixed with juice, wine or Champagne to stretch your points a little)
Sargenta String Cheese (fat free)

These are just a few things that were mentioned. They are different than what I expected. Our leader even adds fresh veggies to his microwave meals. Now why in the world haven't I ever done that? There is always extra sauce. It seems like a great way to stretch food without adding a ton of points. I'm hoping to try this more once school's started and I buy Lean Cuisines again!

Quote: "The discovery of a new dish confers more happiness on humanity than the discovery of a new star." Jean Anthelme Billat-Savarin

It's so true. There are so many stars out there that what good is one more? But when you are trying to lose weight, even on Weight Watchers, you start to feel like you are eating the same things over and over again. Sometimes you are. But when you find something new that is just so good that you can't help but be excited? That's true happiness!

Wish me luck this week. We had our anniversary and we're going to a wedding. Celebrations are my weakness.
